What is Cardiac Rehabilitation class?
The Cardiac Rehabilitation class we help you to understand your condition and to recover from your procedure, surgery or heart attack letting you know that it might not have to be the barrier you think it is. There are many changes you could make to improve your heart health and reduce the risk of further problems.
Who can sign up to it.
To sign up to the scheme you will have to contact the councils Exercise Referral Instructor as there is a protocol to go through whether being referred from the GP or straight from Hospital. People can get referred for the following reasons. Anyone that has had a Heart Attack, A Coronary angioplasty, Heart surgery, People that have angina or had Heart failure or someone that has had an ICD fitted (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator)
How to get started?
The Cardiac Rehab sceme is called Active Hearts and is run by North West Leicestershire District Council in partnership with Leicestershire and rutland sport (LRS). University Hospitals and local GP Surgeries.
